Purpose:
Machine tools are machines used to manufacture other machines. They are indispensable equipment for various basic and precision machining processes. Therefore, machine tools are often referred to as the “mother of machines” or “working mother machines.”
Machine tools occupy a critical position in the overall machinery industry. The national strength and industrial technology level of a country are often evaluated by the production value, production scale, and technological advancement of its machine tool industry. Recognizing this importance, Taiwan has invested significant human and material resources in the development and promotion of the machine tool industry.
Accordingly, this department has designed a series of courses to train students in machine tool structure, controllers, program development, machine operation, and the development trends of machine tools. These courses aim to enhance students’ professional capabilities and employability after graduation.
Objectives:
1. Enable students to understand the structure and operating principles of CNC machine tools.
2. Teach students the correct operating procedures for CNC machine tools.
3. Help students understand the advantages, disadvantages, and evolution of traditional machining machines and CNC machines.
4. Train students to write NC programs.
Equipment:
1. CNC Horizontal Milling Machine (1 unit)
2. CNC Turning/Milling Simulation Machines (4 units)
3. Injection Molding Machine (1 unit)
4. Laser Processing Machine (1 unit)
Achievements:
1. Provide complete machining equipment and help students understand the structure of machining machines.
2. Use NC program simulation software to ensure that each student receives sufficient training in NC programming.
3. Through the practical training equipment in this CNC machine tool laboratory, students gain hands-on experience to strengthen practical skills.
