Introduction

 Department Introduction 
This department is located in the Comprehensive Building II of the Second Campus of National Formosa University.
It is one of the oldest departments in the university.
It has cultivated numerous outstanding students, and its graduates are highly valued and sought after by various industries.
The four-year undergraduate program was established in 2001. In the future, the department will continue to integrate theory with practical training to cultivate more mechanical engineering professionals for the nation.

 Development Goals 
The 21st century is the era of the knowledge economy. In this era, the integration of “innovation” and “technological knowledge” represents the type of talent most needed for corporate profit generation and national economic development.

The professional competency objectives of this department are developed in four main directions:
(1) Transmission System Design and Manufacturing
(2) Microsystems and Biomedical Engineering
(3) Thermal-Fluid Machinery and Energy Technology
(4) Mechatronics Engineering and Innovative Design

In terms of professional knowledge and technological capabilities, the department not only provides fundamental expertise in power mechanical engineering but also incorporates knowledge related to MEMS and emerging industries (such as semiconductors, nanoengineering, and biotechnology) to align with advances in knowledge development and technological progress.
